What do I need to become a Truck Driver in New Zealand?
To become a truck driver in New Zealand, you need to hold a heavy vehicle license for the class and weight of the vehicle you want to drive, and pass drug and alcohol tests. You can obtain a heavy vehicle license by completing a practical driving test and theory test at the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA). In some cases, you may also need special endorsements for specific types of vehicles such as forklifts, bulldozers, and tankers.

Minimum sick leave entitlements increasing to 10 days
Most employees who have worked for an employer for six months or over are entitled to sick leave if they, or a dependent, are sick or injured. Currently, employees are entitled to 5 days of sick leave per year; however, from 24 July 2021 this will increase to 10 days per year.
